Why should I use a professional resume service?

Recruiters and government sectors receive hundreds and sometimes thousands of resumes to process down to a shortlist, spending up to a few minutes looking at each individual application in the first instance. The advantage of our resume writing service is that we know exactly what content to add and remove, how to angle and highlight your relevant achievements, skills and abilities to ensure your resume will stand right out from your competition and give you the very best possible chance of getting the government job you want. There really is no substitute for taking advantage of in-depth professional advice, experience and expertise. What was acceptable ten years ago was not acceptable five years ago; and what was the norm five years ago is not the norm today. Resume preparation is an ever-changing field.

What is the expected turnaround time?

We don't have a fixed turnaround time as all our government packages are worked on around job closing dates, hence are completed in order of closing date. Once your feedback and clarification has been is received, the changes are generally made within 24 hours and emailed back to you as final documents - ready to use.

Do I need more than one resume if I am applying for various types of jobs?

This really depends on how different the positions of interest are. Your résumé writer can certainly prepare 2 or 3 different versions if needed, this is often useful for clients work in a trade such as Electrician who would like a resume and cover letter for both general industry and also jobs in the Australian Government.  Alternatively, within the Australian Government you may be pursing two jobs types i.e. driving roles such as Operations Management and Project Management… in this case two different resumes and cover letters would be created for you and these are included in our Gold Government Resume Package.

I am really busy, can you prepare my resume without a face to face appointment?

Most certainly! Our Government Resume Writers have been preparing resume long distance/remotely since 1995. To assist us in the accurate and efficient gathering of your information, we utilise a questionnaire, together with a thorough phone consultation with you at a time that suits you.  We also request that clients fax or email through any existing documents such as old or current résumé, references, job descriptions, certificates and job advertisements. A majority of the process is coordinated efficiently via email.

Do you specialise in my field or industry of interest?

With 25 years solid experience assisting 10,000+ clients, our resume writers have assisted jobseekers across all job sectors within the Australian Government at all levels from school leavers to  management, and have prepared resumes for clients in all salary ranges, achieving numerous positions. 90% of our clients haven’t previously worked in the government, however that is not an obstacle as we know what skills and experience to highlight whilst providing effective coaching that will give you confidence and increase your results. Our ultimate objective is to write an effective resume that sells your strengths and attributes, showcasing your skills and experience regardless of what level of position you are seeking.

What are your fees based on?

Resume writing is labour intensive, taking our resume writers anywhere from 3-6 hours to complete a resume project, not including client consultation time and extra time discussing any changes required via telephone to ensure you are 100% satisfied with your documents.
